Backtracking a bit...AIA Sandcastle Competition 2008

This was our 4th year to attend the AIA Sandcastle Competition in Galveston, TX. This year the Jacobs Carter Burgess crew created a Sandyland (Candyland) theme that won the Crowd Favorite, Best Costume and 4th Place overall. Once again it was a fun day for the girls to play in the sand and water. They enjoy capturing little sea creatures and building places for them to live. I am not quite certain that they actually look at the sandcastles that are being built. Despite that fact, they look forward to the event each year.
Steve always gets rave reviews on his homemade kites that he flies, too. If you look very closely at the cloud picture, you will see Steve's Tyvek kite waaaaay up there. It is white and blends into the sky. Since this time, Steve has created a huge blue kite out of a tarp. We can't see that one, either!
